1055 View Circle (11)
This green built home was a true collaboration between the owners, David Goldman of Environmental Architecture, and Sierra Sustainable Builders. The seed design was inspired by the Rob Monaghan (owner) and a drawing he presented in a collaborative meeting between the parties. David Goldman then refined it into a plausible design, adding many features his talent perceived in the concept. From the first shovel of dirt to the final inspection Sierra Sustainable realized this exquisite modern home. The result is a high efficency passive solar design built from 100% recycled polystyrene Tridi Panel walls and engineered lumber, all resting on a 30% recycled content concrete footing. From the deck and rail to the wood accents and interior stairs, we utilized locally reclaimed wood, most of which we procured ourselves, bringing in a warm rich contrast to the minimalist modern design. Other features include Trombe Wall, radiant heat, stained concrete floors, SSB custom cabinetry, low VOC paints and wood finishes, in an an extremely high efficiency , fireproof building envelope. -
