The property before the remodel. Orignally a "Days Inn" constructed in the Early 70's, this building was in a state of deterioration before the remodel began.

The rooms were completed with the reclaimed wood theme for the head boards, night stands, and vanity tops. Additionally they received recycled carpet, organic mattresses and pillows, low VOC paints and wood coatings, and water efficient fixtures including dual flow toilets. As seen behind the vanity, American Clay, a natural earth plaster, was used for the wall finish. This is a clean natural product which achieves a final texture over drywall and eliminates the need for paint. http://www.americanclay.com/

The rustic timeless quality character only reclaimed wood can achieve. This is a custom piece we created for the entry area, one of many we fabricated throughout the premises.

The use of rusting steel added an elemental quality, complimenting the wood and rock, and is a durable material for siding in this climate. This photo depicts both flat and corrugated steel all trimmmed with reclaimed doug fir.

The entry holds the reception and kitchen/bar area. We removed the original glue down carpet, polished the concrete, built a curved and inviting bar, topped with Caesar Stone, and brought the outside in with the elements of steel and wood, under the back drop of reclaimed redwood cabinetry.

The table in this piece was made from the base of a tree removed from the property to which we added the legs and glass. The tree shape in the background is composed entirely of tree bark.

We utilized redwood from the original building, that typically would have been destined for the land fill, and crafted the unique custom cabinetry for the bar area. The character of the nail holes and mill marks tell a story of the past life of the wood.

Our signature wood collages were composed entirely of locally reclaimed wood from our collection yard and pieces from the orginal building saved during the deconstruction phase. Not only is this an excellent re-use, but again there is a story behind these pieces which connect the project to the locality and create a true piece of unique work. The image onthe left depicts Kirei Board in use, a sustainable material made from sorghum.

Several hundred feet of fencing was re-done around the property, including the pool enclosure, which utilized fresh posts but also reclaimed fence boards for a majority of the fill wood.
